Faith Builders

Faith Builders are small groups that meet to encourage Bible Study and discipleship growth.  Three groups actively meet.  A women's group and men's group at Thursday mornings at 10 AM at the church and a co-ed evening group on designated Sunday evenings.  New members are always welcome!

Questions?  Call Betty Brown at 815-965-4300.

Roast Beef Dinners

The Presbyterian Women's Association holds a Spring and Fall Family Style Roast Beef Dinner to raise funds for Mission and Ministry projects.  Everyone is invited to attend.  Volunteers are always needed to peel potatoes, bake pies, make salads, cook and serve dinner and of course clean up!  These dinners can't be beat and have become a church and neighborhood tradition.

Favorite Bible Verse Sunday

 Sunday, February 14, 10:15 AM

During the month of January, the Worship Committee would like you to tell us what your favorite Bible verse is.  There will be an insert in the bulletin each Sunday during January.  Write your name, your favorite Bible verse and tell us why it is your favorite.  If you would be willing to share your Bible verse with us during worship on February 14, check the box that says, "I would like to share."  Just drop the insert in the offering plate as it goes by.   The sharing of verses will replace the sermon for a special February 14th service!

Christmas Joy Offering

A Presbyterian tradition for almost seventy years, the Christmas Joy Offering is one of the special offerings designated by the general Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to provide congregations direct ways of supporting specific causes that help those in need.

Those who will benefit from this special offering are:

  • retired ministers and missionaries and their spouses who receive pensions too small to cover their needs.  They are given income assistance and nursing home care assistance when needed.

  • some of our Presbyterian schools receive special grants to help in intensive training in the basic educational skills and for programs to deepen the spiritual commitment of minority students and their families, particularly the Native American Indian congregations.

Christmas Joy offerings will be received throughout December.  Christmas Joy envelopes are available in the church pew pockets, in the Christmas Joy mailing or in your church giving envelope box.
